How to Open What Is Closed
I immigrated to the U.S. to do ministry and applied for a green card through a religious visa, but my application was denied. I reapplied through an employment-based visa, and USCIS sent a notice requesting three years’ worth of financial audit documents from the church. Our CPA submitted reports showing that our finances had declined each year, but there was no response from USCIS.
One day, my younger daughter asked, “How long do I have to believe in your God?” Her words hit me hard. My ministry is supposed to testify to the living God, but if my own child couldn’t see God through me, it made me question whether my ministry had been in vain. I cried out to God in prayer, saying, “If I don’t get the green card, I’ll quit ministry.”
Then the words, “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven,” took hold of my heart. I realized that because I had things bound on earth, my green card was also bound. To “loose” it, I got up early one morning and sought out every person with whom I had unresolved issues, asking for reconciliation and forgiveness.
And then, something incredible happened. That very week, I received my work permit, and the following week, my green card arrived.
